Hello 2019!

Life often throws us curveballs, in my experience it’s never the things you worry about, it’s always something you don’t expect.  That thing you weren’t looking for that knocks you off your course.  But the great thing about having lived through a couple decades and weathering a few storms is that- One, I can see the positive things that come out of even trying times.  Two, I know that nothing last for ever, things are always changing.  Three,  I focus more on solutions and less on the problem.   I find the things that I can affect and focus my attention and energy there.  So, that being said the last few months of 2018 my attention and energy was focused on other areas of my life and not much painting, drawing or writing got done.  But other areas of my life that needed attention received it and a ground work was laid for a better more productive 2019.  My only obstacle now is getting back into that creative flow.  Training my mind, attention and energy back on making art and the business of selling art.  Steven Pressfield in “The War of Art” talks about the Resistance.  That invisible force that blocks us creatively, encouraging procrastination and avoidance in artists.  Once I break through the Resistance I should have some new art to share with you.

Here are some things to look for in 2019

My first solo art show – details to come

A new updated website with online shop

Look for me at Alley Art Fest in August in downtown Aurora

  1. Supporting you in getting back in the creative flow soon! I’ve had success with the mini art sessions of 5, 10, or 15 minutes, when I’ve been out of the flow (like right now, in the process of moving – next Tuesday, but whose counting days…). After a few days of these little sessions, I start to get excited again!
